On Thursday at 6:35 a.m., police were called to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, where Leonard Oglesby III walked into the emergency department with a gunshot wound, police said.
Shortly after that, police were called to the 1400 of Caspian Avenue where there were signs of a shooting, police said It was determined that Oglesby was shot in the residence.
An investigation by detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit identified Oglesby’s girlfriend, Shawnique Hudson, as the suspect involved in shooting him, police said.
On Friday at 6:21 p.m,, Patrol Officers Ivaylo Ivanov and Consuelo Maldonado located Hudson’s vehicle in the first block of south Texas Avenue. Hudson was taken into custody without incident, police said.
She was found in possession of five grams of cocaine and a small amount of heroin, police said.
While the patrol officers were still on scene, Oglesby walked up to the vehicle and was taken in custody on a warrant. Oglesby was found in possession of 11 grams of powder cocaine, eight grams of crack cocaine, nine grams of heroin, 302 bags of heroin, and multiple prescription medication pills, police said.
Hudson, 33, of Atlantic City was charged with aggravated assault and drug and weapons offenses, police said.
Oglesby, 32, of Atlantic City was charged with criminal mischief, five counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and five counts of intent to distribute drugs, police said.
Hudson and Oglesby were being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
